The second part of  "DakshinaChitra" comprises the various potteries embellished the campus and the art and artifacts...so many handicraft  and art exhibitions are also conducted here...

              Research at DakshinaChitra centers on photographic and video Documentation of performers, artisans, craft processes, festivals and architecture...Once every two years DakshinaChitra holds an International Seminar and Workshop...

DakshinaChitra in collaboration with Kalakshetra offer a 2 years Master's program in ARTS MANAGEMENT 2011-2013 too...

DAKSHINACHITRA- to explore South Indian Architecture,Arts & Crafts(Part 1)

                  DakshinaChitra- is a centre that is known for its living traditions of art,folk performing arts,craft and architecture of India..Comprising all the four Southern states(Tamilnadu,Kerala,Andhra,Karnataka), what started as a project has now become an important tourist destination...It was started to provide a place where the many cultures of south Indian states could be showcased...

                   Inspired by the artisans and fold artists of the villages, Dr. Deborah Thiagrajan, set out to form the Madras Craft Foundation (MCF) in 1984....Madras Craft Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization and DakshinaChitra was conceived as its main project....DakshinaChitra opened to the public in December 1996....The center occupies ten undulating acres overlooking the Bay of Bengal, at Muttukadu, twenty five kilometers south of Chennai, on the East Coast Road to Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, India...

                 When i headed into this place, astonished to see the traditional houses they ve' made with great effort..of course, the real houses standing proudly holding all the things related to that place from furniture to vessels...a must visit place to know our tradition...there's lot to see...so i publish this into two parts for you to explore the South Indian culture...
